Dr. Abdullah AlAwadi

Dr. Abdullah AlAwadi is a Board certified Internist and currently a fellow in Adult cardiology program – KIMS.
He is the POCUS lead in Kuwait internal medicine program, training residents on basics of point of care ultrasound. He participated in training of more than 150 IM residents throughout dedicated hands-on workshops.
He is a member and instructor in the Canadian point of care ultrasound society.
His area on interest include critical care ultrasound – point of care ultrasound, and focused cardiac ultrasound training.

Dr. Abdullah Almutairi

Dr. Abdullah is a PGY-1 radiology resident in the Kuwait Board of Radiology with a strong passion for point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) education.
He has extensive experience teaching POCUS to residents in the Kuwait Boards of Internal Medicine (KBIM) and Emergency Medicine (KBEM), as well as to medical students at Kuwait University.
His teaching portfolio also includes a diverse range of healthcare professionals, from nurses to EMTs, reflecting his commitment to advancing ultrasound proficiency across disciplines.

Bader Alayyad

Dr. Bader Alayyad is an advanced heart failure and transplant specialist. After completing his internal medicine residency at KIMS and earning his MRCP (UK) certification in 2016, he pursued the KIMS cardiology fellowship, which he completed in 2021. He further specialized with fellowships in advanced heart failure and transplantation at the University of British Columbia and the University of Alberta. Dr. Alayyad currently leads the advanced heart failure and transplant unit at Dabbous Cardiac Center, providing comprehensive care for patients across the heart failure spectrum.

Dr. Shaimaa Alasfour

A consultant in family medicine with extensive experience in Bariatric Medicine, with a strong focus on diet and nutrition.
She is a highly motivated and conscientious professional, holding a Doctor of Medicine & Surgery degree, Family Medicine Kuwaiti Board certification, and is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
Notably, she is the first Kuwaiti to receive dual Board Certification from the American Association of Bariatric Counsellors.
In addition, she completed a fellowship program at Imperial College London.
Since 2023 Dr. Alasfour currently serves as the Deputy Manager of the Community Nutrition Sector at the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN).

Prof. Abdelmoneim Awad

Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics at College of Pharmacy, Kuwait University.
In 2017, he joined the Geriatric Unit at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital as part of a multidisciplinary team.
He is a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. His research has gained wide recognition, leading to invitations to review over 150 manuscripts for 40 journals and the American Geriatrics Society.
